Tech companies challenge: AlphaLab selected by the crowd

This week we have been looking at some of the unusual names given to Pittsburgh tech companies and the reasoning behind the selections. For some, it was the need for a URL. For others, it was based on who the end user would be, and, in other cases, it was what sounded right and reflected a certain amount of fun.

If done right, a name can become ubiquitous and even a verb — just ask Google.
