The “Pandora of wine”, Rhomania is starting a company that seeks to enable anyone to be a wine pro by creating a database of personal preferences:

RhoMania seeks to strip through much of the pretentiousness surrounding wine and educate wine amateurs and enthusiasts alike about what they really enjoy about wine. Through tastings designed by statisticians Mike Finegold and Andrew Thomas, RhoMania is collecting the vital data necessary to develop algorithms that will give wine consumers an easy way to choose a good wine.
