Beauty sites sell thousands of products, but their matching tools are ineffective and confusing. Walking into a store can be overwhelming with all of the brands you have to choose from before even selecting your foundation shade. Additionally, in-store matching is made more difficult with poor lighting and inexperienced staff, which results in bad matches and returns. This process has been especially frustrating for people of color who often face less inclusive shade variations. This results in users buying foundations that they are not happy with.
From there, users can test out different shades using augmented reality, allowing them to test shades in real time against their skin. This has transformed the traditionally cumbersome search for makeup into a personalized, digital experience for over 70,000 users.
