In a series of frequently-aired Microsoft commercials, all sorts of people — a bored couple in an airport, a multitasking businessman in a coffee shop, a frustrated mother trying to take a decent family picture — solve their life problems by going “to the cloud.”
Amazon and Google recently launched their own clouds for consumers. Apple is expected to announce plans for its iCloud today.
Which all leads to the question: What is a cloud? And should we all be going there?
