Center makes innovation work for budding entrepreneurs
Corissa McClay had two passions as a young girl: working with computers and making her own jewelry.
As an adult, McClay is combining those two diverse passions to create MakerCraft, a startup business she hopes will one day help customers design and customize their own jewelry via a mobile app.
McClay’s startup is one of six currently housed at AlphaLab, a business accelerator program located in Pittsburgh that is part of Innovation Works (IW). The mission of IW is to drive economic development in Southwestern Pennsylvania through direct investments, business expertise and hands-on support.
