BlackLocus’ new investors impressed with Pittsburgh firm

In today’s print edition we told you about the $2.5 million series A raised by Oakland (at least for now)-based BlackLocus. One of the Texas venture capital firms involved in the deal— he called too late to be included in the print story, but I am never one to pass up an interview opportunity — took some time to tell us what it was about the company that caught their attention.

First of all, Morgan Flager, partner at Silverton Partners, said the firm was intrigued by the growth trends seen in e-commerce, especially in the small- to mid-sized specialty merchants — just the companies BlackLocus is targeting.
