AlphaLab is a leading startup accelerator that helps innovative technology companies launch quickly and successfully. Founded in 2008 by Innovation Works, AlphaLab has been recognized as one of the nation’s best accelerators and is a charter member of the Global Accelerator Network.

Our program runs twice a year for 20-weeks. During this time, we provide $25,000 in investment capital, office space, mentorship, connections, and educational sessions to help them accelerate the launch and growth of their company. At the end of five months, the startups will present their company at AlphaLab Demo Day to investors and press from around the nation.

AlphaLab’s mentor network consists of the top entrepreneurs, investors, and experts in the Pittsburgh region and beyond. Our alumni companies include many of the top companies in the Pittsburgh startup community including The Resumator, NoWait, Shoefitr, Black Locus (acquired by Home Depot), FutureDerm, ActivAided Orthotics, SolePower and Insurance Zebra.

We are located in Pittsburgh's historic South Side neighborhood, conveniently situated between downtown Pittsburgh and major universities such as Carnegie Mellon University and University of Pittsburgh. Since its inception, AlphaLab's space has become a hub for Pittsburgh's entrepreneurial community, regularly hosting grassroots meetup groups and startup networking events like Open Coffee Club and Innovation Happens.

AlphaLab is program of Innovation Works, one of the most active seed-stage investors in the nation, and a charter member of the Global Accelerator Network.
